We have created the following no-cost resources to assist workers and workplaces to improve psychological health and safety. Consultation is available to organizations in order to ensure that these are optimally utilized.
Psychological Health and Safety: An Action Guide for Employers.
We developed this with support from the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Its aim is to help employers create a psychologically healthy workplace that supports the psychological health of employees. Practical actions are given, each of which is consistent with evidence and includes an explanation of how to implement it, along with tools to support implementation. The Guide is available in French and English and is complementary to the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.
Guarding Minds @ Work (GM@W)
We developed this with support from Great-West Life Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace. It provides an evidence-based process that employers can easily and quickly implement to protect psychological safety and promote psychological health in their workplace. It is the recommended audit tool for the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.

The Measure of Organizational Readiness for Psychological Health (MORPH)
We developed this with support from the British Columbia Ministry of Health and Coast Mental Health. It is a measure of organizational readiness for change in PH+S domain. It easily and inexpensively provides a profile of an organization’s workforce with regard to change readiness for a range of possible initiatives.
Improving Psychological Health & Safety in the Workplace: Critical analysis and pragmatic options
We developed this with support from the Mental Health Commission of Canada. It is a critical analysis of models for improving psychological health and safety in the workplace. It presents a pragmatic approach that facilitates an integrated response to workplace psychological health issues across the continuum of employment and between the key employer, regulatory, labour and mental health care stakeholders.
Depression & Work Function
We developed this with support from the Great-West Life Assurance Company and Healthcare Benefit Trust. It reviews many of the current clinical and workplace issues associated with this complex disorder and provides a framework for an integrated and comprehensive approach to managing depression in the workplace.
